The spirit of CDS community sparked from January 18th to 22nd, 2016, as students and teachers creatively adorned themselves according to the theme of each day of the spirit week, making the five days brimful of energy.
Monday was crazy hair and pajama day. Wearing pajamas at school gave students and teachers the feeling of going to bed at night and created cozy atmospheres in classrooms. Tuesday was flashback day, in which students styled themselves with famous fashion from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Moreover, some students took a step further and dressed themselves as people from the medieval age. Wednesday was school color day, and students were asked to express the school spirit using yellow, blue, and white. In fact, CDS had a home game for the KAIAC basketball tournament. With the school community cheering and shining the light of school colors, the basketball team was encouraged to give their best performance. Thursday was grade character day: characters from Disney for 9th grade, anime and manga for 10th grade, Harry Potter for 11th grade, and Super Mario for 12th grade. It was interesting to see distinct charms of each grade. The spirit week marked an end with Friday being twin day. Students and teachers dressed the same as their partners, reflecting precious friendship and love between individuals of the community.
The school was filled with colorful enthusiasm of CDS community. Even though the spirit week has come to a close, the school spirit will glitter as always.
