The day of October 12th 2018 had students drenching in sweat, yet pushed them to build stronger community within the school and as an individual. We Run Cheongna is an annual event in Cheongna Dalton School. On this day, middle school students have their 3k race and high school students have a 5k race at the Cheongna Lake Park. Students had been practicing their running skills in P.E. class and they worked so hard competing with each other and consistently practicing to improve themselves until the day of the competition. Unlike previous years with high school girls running 3k and boys running 5k, both the girls and boys ran 5k this year. Students were able to run under the cool air bringing term 1 to a close. Student council planned on something new with We Run Cheongna t-shirts this year. Each grade voted on their own grade color shirts and each grade will have separate shirts along with their own grade designs which students will be voting on. These grade shirts will be allowed to wear during school hours instead of polo shirts.
This year, the trophy was given to 10th grader Nayoung Kim for the girls and 10th grader Tylor Park for the boys. Congratulations to all of the students who challenged themselves in the race and put in their best efforts! The Cross Country team showed particularly impressive results after all their weekly training. Special thanks to the P.E. department Mr. Parmar and Mr. Clem for making this day possible. After the running race, Compassion had their successful fundraising event with cotton candies. Students were able to make their own cotton candy after the race. We Run Cheongna allowed a great number of students to challenge themselves throughout practice with fair results. Thank you CDS for your enthusiasm and vigor!
