On March 15th, twenty CDS students traveled to Chadwick school to participate in the KAIAC/KIMEA Choral Festival. Our students performed three pieces from their repertoire. After their performance, they went to clinic sessions with professional singers, also the judges of the festival. Yeongseo Bak (10), one of the choir members said “It was an amazing experience. Getting to know other singers from other schools, learning new techniques about singing, and interacting with others through music made this experience even more special. I hope I can participate in the festival again next year.”
Our students gave it their all throughout the festival, and did extremely well with their performances. The judges were impressed, awarded them with a silver ranking, and complimented their high spirit and enthusiasm. Our students also participated in a choir with different schools. Not only did the singers of our school, but also our very own pianist, Jaewon Shin (11) participated in the Choral Festival as accompanying pianist. Also, our music teacher, Mr. Tolley led the choir to its very full potential. Overall, our first participation in the KAIAC/KIMEA Choral Festival was very successful.
