Today the whole world is obsessed with superhero movies, and viewer trend is moving from the theaters to home screens. The drama I’m recommending today is called the “The Flash” which premiered in 2014. The Flash is based on the DC comic book hero with the same name. It is developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns. It stars Grant Gustin from Glee, Candice Patton, and Danielle Panabaker. The show aired in The CW and it was the second most viewed pilot from the broadcast after “The Vampire Diaries.” It is currently considered one of the most viewed TV series in the US with the 58796 views, and has the rating of 7.3/10 from IMDB. The show is now airing its second season of the show, with the total of 40 episodes. It also has been renewed for the third season which will premiering in October of 2016.
The storyline follows Berry Allen (Played by Grant Gustin) who is an awkward but brilliant CSI agent with a troubled past. However while the city was being battered by unknown radiation following a thunderstorm, he was struck by the lightning causing him to have superhuman speed. With his new ability, he catches criminals as his day job and saves the world in his alter ego, The Flash, as his night job.
I personally think that this drama is worth watching if you are interested in mystery, crime solving and superheroes. Although it is a TV show it features amazing graphic effects on par with the movies, providing amazing watching experience. Also the drama also has a hint of reality and humanistic feature to it, so even if you are not a fan of superheroes you can still enjoy it. In addition because the same producers made TV shows called “The Arrow” and “Supergirl,” which are also based on DC comic, there are notable crossovers between different superheroes. It’s like watching the Avengers of Marvel in DC platform on TV. I would give this Drama 8.5/10 and would definitely recommend it if you are fan of comic books.
