If you have even looked at the internet, you would know that the U.S. presidential election this year is a joke. Plain and simple. Coming from America, I can certainly say that I am quite disappointed at how the country’s turning out. Trump seems like a cocky bully, Clinton hasn’t done much, and Sanders, one of the only sensible people, is quite underrated. Whoever the victor is though, things don’t look good for the White House, or even the world at this rate.
From what I have noticed, all the candidates, notably the Republican ones, just slander others instead of doing anything productive, and if they did then they could actually use this as evidence of why they should get the support of the people. Of course all elections of any political nature will involve lies and many broken promises, yet it does not even look like the unqualified candidates know what they are promising. They use big words that stir up the public just so they get a name for themselves despite some of them already having enough publicity and political background to boost the amount of attention or public opinion they receive.
A joke. The behavior coming from the soontobe president of the United States of America is honestly ridiculous. When you deal with something so serious yet treat it like a publicity stunt, people will eventually catch onto what you are doing. And it is not even the candidates that are running around like headless chickens. The masses would not usually be able to understand the complexities of politics and the tactics employed by the government, but at this point every single candidate is abusing their supporters to the point where nobody knows what is going on anymore - or nobody did in the first place.
To make matters worse, the people really only account for about one third of the electorate, and all the candidates just simply bide their time and boost their reputation so that they cannot be forgotten. After all that mess the main populous cannot even decide on the final president due to the nature of the presidential election. Only select government officials can, which kind of makes the U.S.A.’s political structure more of an internal elective oligarchy rather than a republic. In addition, every government contains greedy old people who refuse to think open-mindedly and give up their jobs to younger and more qualified people who can lead their nation, thus creating an even larger influx of ignorance.
But I digress. There still seems to be nothing the candidates can or will offer to the land of the free. Is this some kind of school house drama? Is it just drama? Will the U.S. have a decent leader? I certainly don’t know, but what I do know is that future generations will have to clean up the growing mess that is being caused.
