The new 2016 soccer season started in mid February and it’s been an issue of great topic as soccer is a popular sport in Cheongna Dalton School. Both the boy and girl teams are famous for having a strong communicative team with great skills and passion. Since it was the first KAIAC season for soccer, many people tried out for the team and after a thorough try out sessions, players were picked and went through vigorous practices two to three times a week.
The girls started off weak in the beginning, losing to Dwight and ICSP, but after hard practices, won KKFS who tied with ICSP. According to coach Laders, the team has to spread out and use the field to the fullest extent as the team sometimes gets very clumped up. However, she stated that the team is improving on their communication skills, passing skills, and is respecting and cheering each other while playing. The girls are on their way to victory, slowly but surely.
The boys started off with a very strong team, as they were last year’s KISAC winners. Their tryouts were tough as they had to run 5k, and the boys that didn’t make the 21minute cut couldn’t play in the team even if they had amazing soccer skills. However, the boys didn’t give up as the boys kept running and one by one, they ran under 21 minutes. Their practices have been tough with hardcore plays during the practices and constant injuries. Despite some of the difficulties, the boys won their game with ICSP 3-1, and tied with Dwight, their most competitive team. According to Mr.Talbot, the team has been starting off with strong passes and have fast responses to the ball and have very accurate passes and shoots. However, the team still has to work on improving prowess as an individual as well as building a stronger teamwork. The team is currently on the road to winning and will not stop till they play their best till the end.
